Fish from 9:45am - noon
C&R'd something around 24 gills and 6 crappie
Using 4# trilene ice - red mono, 2 jigs (Northland doodle bug and Marmish garlic clove) tipped with 2 or 3 maggots
Fished 3 different holes about 12 feet apart from each other, gills out of every hole but only one hole produced the crappie.

Now that I gave you all the important info, here are the pictures of my 1st trip of my 2011 Ice Adventures.

Getting jiggy with it in the Pak Shack with my Zercom flasher and Mr. Heater.

This gill was so hungry, he inhaled the doodle bug.

Let a little light in to show off the awesome colors of these gills.

Awesome pic!

More gills while hanging out in the shanty and all the other guys not even knowing how good the fishing is around them, while they use their tipups.

Finally a crappie!

And the crappie too have awesome color to them.

Getting crazy now, tried to hold this crappie up with just my mouth but a tad to heavy.

One hell of a double catch, 1 gill and 1 crappie, 2 jigs on the line, can't get any better.

And to end my 1st 2011 ice fishing adventure with another cool gill shot in the ice hole.

Nice going, Fish on. I'll have to wait until it gets a litte warmer out here in California. It's freezing overnight and getting way up in the 40's in the day time. Have to leave the lake to the geese and ducks until the sun comes out to warm up the shallows at least.

Once those shallow start to warm, the insects/water bugs will be coming out in force and the early feast will be on.
